Battered by the rain and getting soaked … The story behind the shooting that they can only talk about now!

In a commercial inspired by the world of [ All Hour Liquid ], you demonstrated a waterproof foundation by getting drenched in the rain. Please tell us the story behind the commercial production process.

Shion: The shooting for our team was the earliest in the morning. First, the shooting started from (Yonashiro) Sho-kun, but me and (Kinjo) Sukai said, “Oh…we’ll get soaked like that next.” (laughs). (He makes eye contact with Kinjo-san and they giggle remembering it).

Sho: Hehe (laughs). It happened to be a very cold day during the shooting… It was raining when the shooting started and it was quite cold. I guess it's human nature to shiver when they suddenly get wet first thing in the morning.  It’s a straight forward reaction of the human body, or rather, I just can’t stop shivering (laughs).

How early was that?

Sho: Around 7 or 8 in the morning I think? The sun was hasn’t risen yet, it was cold*〜.*

When you saw the first shooting by Yonashiro-san, what did you think?

Sukai: Aside from the director, there were quite a lot of staff watching the shooting. While everyone was watching the monitor, Sho-kun’s expressions and gestures combined with the sight of water dripping on him made us go “Woah〜! So Cool〜!” We got so hyped up watching him, but after saying those we would always say, “It must be so cold!” (laughs).

Shion: We kept saying that.

Sukai: Actually we said “Woah it must be so cold~!” a lot more than “So Cool~!” (Laughs).

Shion: Since our turn will come after(Laughs). I put in a lot of energy and did my best!

Even JO1 members were surprised! Here are the selling points of the new foundation

― Please tell us the story behind the drenched shooting!

Sho: At first, we were told that “Only the upper body will get wet”. The lower half of the body was covered with a tarpaulin. That’s why I only changed my top and did the shooting wearing my own pants. I kinda had a bad feeling during the shooting, and in the end my pants were also soaked (laughs).

Sukai: It was practically drenched (laughs). I panicked, what should I do in my turn!?

Sho: The manager then hurriedly bought me pants. (laughs)

Sukai: Also, what I was careful about during the shooting was "Do not open your eyes.”

Shion: Right right. I really got a lot of water in my eyes (laughs).

Sukai: However, the director wanted to shoot our cool expression, so sometimes he suddenly gave me instructions such as “Please look at the camera now!” Then I put on a cool look with half-opened eyes while thinking, “It’s raining a lot now…!” (Laughs).
